3. Homeschool Statement

EAGLES is only open to families who are homeschooling at least one child who is age 5 or older as of September 1, 2026, as defined by Nevada state statute found here: NRS 388D.010-070.

Traditional homeschooling, as defined by Nevada Homeschool Network, is when a parent files a Notice of Intent to Homeschool and legally takes full responsibility to provide an education to their child. In other words, the parent fully directs/controls the education of their child, not the government (including any form of public-school option). The parent is the teacher/principal who not only provides the education but also advances their child to the next grade level when their child is ready and issues the diploma when their child completes their K-12 education.

Public school homebound instruction

Charter schools of ANY type, both CCSD Chartered and State Chartered

4. Media Policy & Release 2026-27

All adults in new families and any who have not done so already will be requred to do a background check.
Eagles will cover the cost of background checks for two adults per family, every three years.
Additional background checks for members of your extended family may be requested for a fee of $12 per person.
Background checks are good for three years. 6. Volunteer Commitment

Families are requred to volunteer at least once per year. This requirement is not onerous; it can be as simple as helping to clean-up after an event, chaperoning a field trip or dance, or other opportunities that will be offered throughout the year. If you or another background checked adult are not able to volunteer at all, you can choose to pay the $175 Volunteer Opt-out Fee in addition to your Annual Dues.

Paying the opt-out fee DOES NOT apply to Co-op Classes. ALL families participating Co-op Classes MUST volunteer in some way every week of Co-ops and must be available to help every hour that a child is registered for classes.

Volunteer Opportunities

The following are some Volunteer Opportunities for the upcoming year. Please read the descriptions for info on each opportunity.
Indicating interest does not commit you; it just let's know where you may want to help. 7. PE Coach

PE runs on Friday mornings 9:30am - 11:00am, twice a year for 8-10 weeks in the fall and spring. We need coaches for all age levels and will provide training for each sport taught. You NOT need to have experience in each of the sports, just a willingness to guide our students through drills and play.

This is great opportunity for DADS to get involved with Eagles!

8. Dance Chaperones & Helpers

Eagles hosts at least three dances per year: Fall Semi-formal, Spring Prom and a Father-Daughter dance in the spring. We are looking for parents to chaperone one or more of these dances. For the Father-Daughter dance we need moms to chaperone and help with set-up and clean-up. We may be adding more dances for our younger students if we have enough interest and helpers

9. Student Expo

This event is successful and growing annual event encourages student entrepreneurship. We will need a coordinator who will work with a member of the board who will guide them through organizing the Expo. The coordinator will also need a committee to help with advertising, organizing, and the set-up & tear-down on the day of the event.

10. Eagles will be hosting a rotating schedule of four Passport Student Project events. Our goal is to host two per year. We have a coordinator, but she needs a small team to help her with check-in, set-up, and tear down. These events would be held on either Tuesday or Thursday evening, one in the fall and the other in the spring.

11. Graduation Committee

We’re looking for Junior parents to join the Senior graduation team!

Before your own student takes center stage next year, we invite you to get a "sneak peek" behind the scenes of Graduation. By helping us host next year's ceremony, you're giving next year's Senior parents the chance to fully focus on their graduates—a favor that will be returned to you!

Whether you have an hour to spare for a "one and done" task or want to dive into the planning festivities, there’s a spot for you. We’ll have a few relaxed planning meetings, with most of the excitement happening in the weeks leading up to the big day.

The Senior Graduation Committee will work directly with Jenny Van Cleef.

12. Field Day

This year we held an Elementary Field Day as an Archery Fundraiser. We hope to do this again next year. We need helpers in these areas: check-in, set-up, tear-down, group guides, station monitors, and more.

Any family that has not paid the Annual Dues and the Volunteer Opt-fee by the due date will be removed from the group.

After completing this part of the registration you will be directed to the Member Registration Complete page where there a few more forms that MUST be completed before your registration is complete and your family is approved for membership.
