This poll is to assess interest in participating on the Scripps National Spelling Bee. There is an enrollment fee that EAGLES must pay, therefore we may charge a small fee to help defray that cost.

The speller is eligible to participate in a regional partner’s program only if they:

have not completed the eighth grade and
have not reached their 15th birthday on or before August 31st of the year prior to the applicable National Competition (by way of example, August 31, 2025, for the 2026 National Competition)

There are three levels of competition:

class/school
regional
national (held in May, in Washington, DC)

We need parents to be School Bee Coordinators. This role would entail:

Accessing and distributing spelling bee lists and materials
Organizing & administering Classroom/shool Spelling Bees
coordinate travel for Regional and National bees
any other organization needed

Ideally, there would be a Spelling Bee committee, not just one parent.
